Vonny Coony's Diary

Dear Diary,

I hate school, i hate the teachers and i hate those snobby girls who sit in the back row and think that there so much better than me. The worst part of the day is when Mrs Blacklock makes us read out loud to the class. I have to listen to those stuck up girls at the back read those stupid letters on the page like its so easy. When it comes to my turn, i just cant get it right... and then Mrs Blacklock yells. She shouts at me until her face turns a purple colour. I despise her so much and when she hits me i do not give her the satisfaction of watching me flinch. I just stare right back at her and pretend that i am not scared at all. She gets mad when i do this. Once she grabbed me by my hair and dragged me outside.

I really wish that i could read. I would be able to help out Daffy Kevin and teach him to read as well. Also, i would have the opportunity to get a job and help my family out.

ski camp

As I lay in the cool, wet snow, I felt frustrated, useless and ready to give up. I had tried unsuccessfully and failed yet again to stand up on my snowboard. I just couldn’t do it and I kept telling myself this over and over again in my mind. I glanced back up the mountain and found that I had only travelled a couple of meters before falling again and I couldn’t see the end of the mountain due to the persistent fog. It appeared that I was in the middle of nowhere. How could I possibly “begin with the end in mind” if I had absolutely no idea where the end was? This just made everything seem a whole lot worse.

Looking back on this now, I know that I would not have made it down that mountain without the help of Tiffany. She stayed with me the whole way and offered me the support and encouragement that I needed. Although at first I could barely advance a few meters, by the time I reached the bottom I was able to progress forward unassisted virtually unscathed.

By the end of that day I knew that I had improved substantially since my first attempt. When I realised how far I had come I began to enjoy myself more. Throughout the next couple of days I felt more confident and I eventually made it down the mountain without stacking once!

The main thing I learnt throughout this experience was to never give up even when things are tough. When you fall down, you need pick yourself up and try again. Also, I learnt that it’s a good idea not to insult my teachers even when I accidentally and unintentionally call them ‘fat’. :D

Urban Edventures Paragraph

Walking into China Town, I felt fatigued because we had been on our feet all day. Although I was exhausted and famished, I began to appreciate this vast, colourful and distinctive part of Melbourne. My previous feeling of fatigue was invigorated with a new sense of excitement as I walked through those striking archways. The archways themselves were a stunning example of the classic Chinese culture. They clearly announced that we had finally arrived in China Town. This renowned part of Melbourne is one of the reasons why we are truly known as a multicultural city.

Peaceful warrior quote

“The journey is what brings us happiness- not the destination”

The journey through life is the most important part, not the destination. When we finally reach a goal that we have been striving for, we look back at the journey that made it possible. The hardships and experiences we faced teach us many vital life skills that we will need in the future. The memories will present us with the hope that we can achieve anything we put our mind to. The only thing a trophy will offer us is the knowledge that the journey was worthwhile.

Happiness-Sonnet

Happiness is inspired in our hearts
It is found when we are feeling our best
There is no need for money or smarts
Because it is found when we laugh or jest

Friendship is one thing that makes us feel bliss
With these friends we can feel like we belong
And with our old friends we can reminisce
It is almost like we can do no wrong

Happiness is the very best feeling
And when believe this so very much
There is nothing else that is appealing
It feels like we can just reach out and touch

It feels great when we are truly happy
Why is this poem sounding so sappy?

Eureka Tower

As night falls, the mood of our city alters. Melbourne becomes alive with colour and bright lights that change the atmosphere and surroundings. As you look out, out can see that almost all of the buildings have some sort of twinkling lights shinning from them. The bright lights are vibrant and they illuminate the horizon, which stretches as far as the eye and can see.

By day, the city seems somewhat peaceful. It seems to have a purpose as all the workers go about their business. The mood in the city is as it always has been: peaceful. However, when the sun goes down and the moon comes up it takes an entirely different view. All the workers come down from their skyscraper offices and go home. The tourists might retreat to their hotels. Instead the partygoers come out and make their way to nightclubs and pubs, under the vibrant lights.

As I looked out from my vantage point at the Eureka Tower, I could see every part of Melbourne. I could see how beautiful the city was because of the colour and lights. In my opinion the city of Melbourne is more magnificent and radiant at night.

Virtual Character Box

A Lion- This object symbolizes this character because of the great courage that he shows throughout the play. This character shows great bravery when it is needed.

A Pillar- This is symbolic of strength, which is one of the characteristics this person has.

A Rose- to symbolize the growing love he shares with another character. The rose is a good example because this character does not declare his love intill the end of the play. Its like a rose growing and then blossoming.
